Following the lineage of outdoor ready hats, Barry next tackled apparel with the Chilliwack short and pant. Big half-moon back bucket pockets are both function and fashion. They allow for easy pocket entry and loads of carrying capacity but are instantly recognizable. The tough-wearing canvas, built-in belt, half elastic waist, wide leg, and gusset crotch made this style an instant hit with the climbing community. The Chilliwack short is a production marvel and it’s still made the old fashion way. One Chilliwack short requires eight different sewers and nearly 10 hours of sewing. The indestructible seam work is created with nearly thirty individual parts, T40 five thread overlock with double needle top stitching, and thirteen T70 bar tacks - in some places securing 14-ply fabric. These sewing requirements would break industry standard needles. The Chilliwack is sewn utilizing specialized gold needles specifically built to withstand rigorous demands. 

A Heritage item that is Loose fit, half-elastic waist short with logo shank button and zip fly, built-in burly belt with YKK center release buckle, half-moon silhouette pockets with right rear wallet stay, gusset, thick thread and double needle reinforced seams.
